Brod Bagert is the award-winning author of 19 books of poetry for children, young adults, and adults. His work has received numerous awards, including the International Reading Association’s prestigious Young Adults Choices Award, the Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award, the Independent Publisher Gold Book Award, and Mom’s Choice Gold Medal.

Voice is the heart of Brod’s work. His poems tend to be written in the voice of the audience for whom each poem is intended. Thus a poem for kindergartners will be in the voice of a kindergartner; a poem for teachers will be in the voice of a teacher. This is why he is billed as “One poet, a chorus of voices.” His poems are written for oral performance and cover a broad emotional spectrum ranging from outrageous humor to somber contemplation.
