I am more determined to include poetry in my classroom since the presentation. I loved the tips of how to present poetry in the classroom. I think it is a great way for children to express themselves and can be easily integrated across the curriculum.

I attended a workshop you taught at the Davis County School district in Farmington, Utah two years ago. I bought your books and began "performing" your poems in class. I then had students "perform" your poems for the class. This has become one of the highlights of the year for my students. Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a difference your poems have made! My class loves your poetry first and then moves on to love poetry from many other poets who are "almost" as good. Poets like Jack Prelutsky, Shel Silverstein, Lewis Carrol, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, etc. etc. My wife and I bought a used copy of "Steel Cables" from Amazon. We have loved reading it together.

A principal of a high poverty school, I watch Brod Bagert challenge my students to become something more than what people believe they will become.
